Our patented vacuum sampling system is superior to peristaltic sampling. The vacuum draws at much greater speeds and allows for larger height gain. This is important for accuracy and difficult sampling needs. The fluid travels only through the intake hose to the metering chamber, and then through the discharge hose, eliminating cross-sample contamination from pumps, valves and distribution plates.

Unlike peristaltic sampling, which squeezes samples through tubes, the materials and parts DO NOT wear down quickly! This means less maintenance time and less spare parts.

Samplers are available with a number of features (some optional) that help make the operator's job easier, including:

Diaphragm-type suction pump, standard on all models. Other sampler manufacturers use a peristaltic pump to draw the samples, but peristaltic pumps can't draw the same suction power that the Southwell Samplers diaphragm sampler pump will. Given the nature of what you're sampling, doesn't it make sense to use a better pump?

Pre-sample purge. The available pre-sampling purge mode allows the Southwell Samplers. to clear the sample line of any contaminants that may have settled in the line since the last sample was taken. This feature is especially good for discrete wastewater sampling installations.
